No sign yet of the magic eyeball we're supposed to be looking for in this dungeon.
We managed to get into the sealed off room by using good old fashioned team work and sliding the block back with brute force. This opened into a room with large urns filled with oil, and a locked brass double door in the south wall. Flint took the initiative and slammed his hammer into the door, causing it to open but also triggering a trap where some of our party were cursed with posion. Making up for his triggering the trap, Flint administered two doses of Elixir of Health to those afflicted, waking them back up.
We found ourselves in a large tomb with a 20 by 10 foot sarcophagus, covered in glyphs and depictions of battle. Even though I wasn't magically imbued with the power to read Olman (As Beautimus was), I was clever enough to figure out to punch in a series of numbers on the glyphs on the floor, opening up the sarcophagus and revealing to us numerous treasures and the body of an ancient warrior whose soul was trapped by a magic mask. Driven by a greed for a slightly-better-than-average axe, the group decided to awaken the Warrior in the hopes that his death would allow them to retrieve this cursed axe. We are currently engaged in battle with the ancient Warrior, and I have miraculously found time to scribe this journal entry. Wish us luck!
We realized that the gas that permeates this underground chamber is toxic, so I created a set of masks for myself and my party members. After opening up the door to the hallway, the party decided to slaughter the rest of the magicall entombed ancient warriors left within the entrance room of the lost Shrine. A trap consisting of stone logs bludgeoned Thelamon and cut our party in half, until I ingeniously figured the mechanisms of the pressure plate. Emerging into the next room we were met with giant crawdad and what seemed to be a huge boulder. After Rumelius hastily decided to attack the crawdad, the boulder began to shift and stood up revealing itself to be a monstrous abomination.
In a haste to damage the boulder fiend, Thelamon caused a portion of the room to cave in by using fire magic. When the monster took enough damage, it began speaking in a strange and unintelligible tongue. Beautimus attempted to reach out and ask for a truce, and it seemed he was successful. Nevertheless, Joker loosed an arrow and ended the monster's life. We traveled east, and found a large stone plugging a passageway, covered in a film of caustic lime... How do we get past this obstacle?
